Assigment 11: Program drawing
Making now a reflection about the program on the public space the previous ideas must be reconsidered.
From the point of view of the program now the different levels are not so strongly vinculated with a specific public but they do with a main use and therefore different flows can be found in each one. Then, on the street level predominates the density circulation, as a central plaza in the city with different facilities around, which also now incorporates the expositions from the inside of the main building into the front area.
On the second level, where the terraces are now set predominate the static behavior of sitting. Although in this level the pedestrian circulation is available because it is made of a resistant iron greed, but not so dense as in the floor level.
Finally on the top level, consisting of a malleable net the program, the circulations and the use are, as the material it is made of itself, changeable. So then here it can be considered not being a matter of privacy itself but just a matter of freedom. Freedom and necessities.
As William Whyte studies show there are some tendencies on the statement habit in public space. So then regarding to the different publics who use the plaza and their common actions the material can allow all them in a same dynamic level, letting circulation be possible depending on the use of the level at the moment, the number and disposition of the users.
Then, reconsidering everything maybe there is no need of making a three level division but with just the changeable net, the usual activities on the plaza, the hole program, the increasing of freedom and the necessity of giving a new point of view to the main building can be covered and afforded.
